Community Leadership & Grassroots Fundraising

With extensive experience serving on working committees and advisory boards, I’ve played a hands-on role in major community fundraisers for Baton Rouge institutions like the Junior League and Susan G. Komen. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Manship Theatre and as a host committee member for Companion Animal Alliance—offering pro bono communications and fundraising strategy to causes I care deeply about, especially in the arts, animal welfare, and food insecurity.

In 2025, I had the unique opportunity to support Murphy and Tammy’s fundraising campaign for FurBall, Baton Rouge’s signature gala benefitting Companion Animal Alliance (CAA). This was the first project under the Palmetto House banner, and it held personal significance. Tammy’s participation was in honor of her late son and my cousin, John.

Palmetto House proudly partnered with Murphy and Tammy’s FurBall campaign to:

  • Design and manage a comprehensive social media strategy that raised awareness, drove engagement, and inspired donations.

  • Create compelling, mission-driven content tailored for digital platforms.

  • Coordinate marketing for a giveback event, where proceeds directly benefited the campaign.

  • Elevate visibility of CAA—East Baton Rouge Parish’s only open-intake shelter—through strategic storytelling.

  • Provide day-of event communications and visuals that celebrated Tammy’s story while aligning with the campaign’s fundraising goals.

Through this blend of creativity, strategy, and heart, we helped shine a light on CAA’s incredible work and raised over $20,000 in two months for thousands of animals in need.
